This is the story of the late Rev. E.M. Broen and his family. Rev. E.M. Broen, an immigrant from Norway, became the recognized leader of the Church of the Lutheran Brethren of America during the first forty years. As president and instructor at Lutheran Brethren Schools, he was a well-loved Bible and mission teacher. He often preached as congregations throughout the Midwest and in the western provinces of Canada. He died, in his native Norway in 1938, while returning from a mission fact-finding trip to China. The author is his daughter, who taught for many years at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota.
